Roof Leak Repair in Leesburg, VA on Riverpoint Drive

Our Cenvar Roofing team in Winchester recently inspected a home on Riverpoint Drive in Leesburg, VA after the homeowner reported an active roof leak above the family room. The customer had placed a small tarp over the affected area to prevent further water intrusion until we could arrive for an estimate.

What We Found

During the inspection, our team identified multiple areas of shingle damage across the roof surface. Several shingles were cracked, torn, or missing entirely, exposing the underlayment and allowing moisture to reach the roof deck. We also found a section of rotted decking beneath the missing shingles — a clear sign that water had been penetrating for some time.

In addition to the damaged shingles, the pipe flashing had been heavily sealed with roofing cement, which can temporarily stop leaks but often fails over time. This buildup of sealant was contributing to the homeowner’s leak issue and needed a proper flashing replacement.

The Repair Plan

To address these issues, our repair plan includes:

  • Removing damaged shingles and inspecting the underlying wood decking.
  • Replacing any compromised decking to ensure a solid foundation.
  • Installing new ice and water shield (CSI WIP100) to provide long-term leak protection.
  • Installing new Tamko Titan XT architectural shingles in the Virginia Slate color to match the existing roof.
  • Properly re-flashing the vent pipe to ensure a watertight seal.

This combination of deck repair, flashing correction, and shingle replacement will resolve the leak and help extend the life of the roof.
