‍For this grand 2.5-story home, age was the primary concern. At approximately 20 years old, the existing roof was simply "tired" and needed a refresh to match the home's historic character. The project wasn't just about nailing down new shingles; it required a keen eye for architectural details that had been modified over the decades.‍Working alongside the owner's General Contractor, we developed a comprehensive plan to modernize the roof while correcting past "band-aid" fixes. This included addressing a "trim coil box" on an end wall that was hindering proper flashing and removing an unused chimney to streamline the upper dormer.‍

Key Upgrades & Materials

‍We stripped the roof back to its bones to ensure the new system would last for the next 50 years.‍The project specifications included:

• Heritage Aesthetics: We installed Tamko Titan XT Architectural Shingles in Rustic Black. This deep, bold charcoal color anchors the home's red brick exterior and provides a timeless look appropriate for a historic property.

• Architectural Corrections: We removed an obsolete chimney protruding from the side of an upper dormer and repaired the framing and decking to create a seamless surface. This eliminated a major leak risk and improved the roof's silhouette.

• Custom Flashing: We utilized Tall Face Drip Edge (2.5" x 4") to provide better coverage over the home's original wood fascia, ensuring that wind-driven rain can't rot the eaves.

• Ventilation Update: We removed old wind turbines and repaired the deck holes , replacing them with a sleek Cenguard Ridge Vent system for superior, balanced airflow.
