Shingle Roof Replacement Estimate on Alvis Road in Princeton, WV

Back to Recent Projects

Our Princeton roofing team recently visited a home on Alvis Road to provide a full shingle roof replacement estimate. The property currently has shingles on the main portion of the house, while the front and back additions are roofed with metal and do not need to be replaced. The homeowner contacted Cenvar Roofing after seeing our work on Facebook and requested an estimate for replacing the shingle sections on the middle portion of the home and both wings.

What We Found During the Roof Inspection

The existing shingles are showing signs of wear, and replacing only the main shingle-covered sections will help ensure the home remains protected without disturbing the metal additions that are still in good condition. The structure of the home makes it a good candidate for a partial shingle replacement, especially since the different sections are clearly divided between metal and shingle surfaces.

The inspection also noted areas where care will be needed around the existing metal roof sections and landscaping. The material list notes the need to hang tarps from gutters and take extra caution around the hot tub and the metal roofed areas during installation. The front flat roof and the back metal roof are specifically excluded from the replacement scope.

Recommended Roofing System

The replacement estimate includes a complete shingle system for the middle portion of the home and both wings using high-quality materials designed for long-term durability in the Princeton climate. Materials specified in the project file include:

• Tamko Titan XT architectural shingles in Rustic Black
• Matching hip and ridge caps
• Cenguard starter strip
• Cenguard ice and water shield
• Synthetic underlayment
• White aluminum drip edge
• Ridge vent sections
• Broan bath and dryer vents
• Lifetime plumbing boot
• Button caps and fasteners for proper installation

This system provides a strong, weather-resistant upgrade that ties in cleanly with the existing metal additions.
