‍Managing a home renovation is hard enough; managing one from a different city is even harder. For this homeowner, the property on Rock City Road was a secondary home, and he was unable to be on-site for the appointment. He needed a contractor he could trust to assess the property honestly and execute the work without constant supervision.‍Our Kingsport team visited the property, assessed the "walkable" roof pitch, and identified specific improvements to prolong the roof's life. We handled the entire project remotely, from the initial digital inspection to the final cleanup, giving the owner peace of mind from miles away.‍

Key Upgrades & Materials

‍We didn't just replace the shingles; we corrected the roof's airflow and drainage issues.‍The project specifications included:

• Ventilation Conversion: The existing roof relied on "750" box vents. We removed these older static vents and cut in new Ridge Vents.  This conversion allows for continuous exhaust along the entire peak of the roof, significantly lowering attic temperatures compared to spot vents.

• Low-Slope Waterproofing: The home features a front addition and a back section with a lower pitch. We installed Ice & Water Shield on these specific low-slope planes to prevent leaks where water drains more slowly.

• Aesthetic Cleanup: We removed two satellite dishes that were cluttering the roofline, leaving a clean, unobstructed surface for the new shingles.

• Decking Integrity: We verified the condition of the OSB Decking to ensure the new roof had a solid foundation.
