April 3, 2023

Good news here! You shouldn't need a roof replacement but every twenty to thirty years in the most common scenarios for asphalt shingle roofs!

When was the last time you looked at the condition of your roof?

It's easy to ignore the condition of your roof if you don't have any active leaks. You might think that no issues mean no problems but this isn't always the case for whatever is going on underneath your roof! A regular roof inspection twice a year is the recommendation by the National Roofing Contractors Association. This would allow for quick and early catches should anything need attention for your roof.

What to look for when inspecting your roof

  • Loose, cracked, or damaged shingles
  • Sagging in the roofline
  • Any signs of water damage or active leaks
  • Dark spots or steaks
  • Missing shingles
  • Any mold or rot

If you are afraid of heights and don't want to get on your roof, call a local roofing contractor and they'd be happy to inspect the roof for you. Don't put yourself in danger if you have a steep slope roof or even don't feel 100% comfortable with heights.

Keep in mind the number of years will vary depending on the climate that your roof is exposed to! Some regions have severe winters, common hail storms, salty air (beach locations), or high winds all of which affect the life span of your roof! If you've experienced any of these conditions, it would be best to have your roof inspected to ensure your roof is in good condition still.
